Walking Week 03 - Sunday Walk in a (not so) quiet city - Prt 2

So on we head into the city center. I took the road that I use most of the time when i head into the city center, I made a couple of detours just to walk through some streets I've never walked through before ... lets go

I used to work down that road

The mighty Telecom tower

Never walked these pavements before

Le vieux conseil

The theater

Where we used to buy our school books

The one thing I realised during my 3rd walk in the city is
the how the city is a mixture of old and new.
Right here a good example with the brand new
Citadelle Mall and the old style shop in the foreground

The abandoned theater ... not sure what is being done about it

I ended my walk by dropping by the book in the Waterfront shopping mall

Walking Week 03 - Sunday Walk in a (not so) quiet city - Prt 1

Sunday in the Capital city Port Louis is usually a very quiet one. Since the city is the hub of banks and shops, courts and all the important offices, a walk on Sunday will normally reveal empty streets and an almost deafening quietness.

But I guess because today is the end of the month and most people got paid, or maybe its because today they had the horse racing, but the streets of the city center weren't so empty, even though most shops were closed.

So i walked through a couple of unfamiliar streets and then head toward the more familiar paths that lead to the city center. Started at around 10 30ish and came back home at around 1 oclock. So it was fairly a short walk.

Stuck in a bit of traffic, so I took the pic of the fish mongers.

First stop. Always been fascinated by this house that,
like most old house, is slightly leaning sideway

Interesting color

The electric poles and wires are pretty much a work of art

The thing about this wall is the writing could have
been done a decades ago or maybe 10 days ago, truth is
our political scene hasnt chaged much

Abandoned house

The barber shop

its pretty run down but its also business as usual on Sunday

Tokyo Boutik

I've passed by this house so often and never really thought
anybody lives there. Until today when the
old woman poke her head out.

I'll walk to the end of that road one day

Beautiful house

Banksy?

The menu is always the same
