Japan Trip Highlights

I arrived in Tokyo on the 27th, late in the evening. It was a long trip from Mauritius and a bit of long wait at Hong Kong.

I stayed in Tokyo until 30th of April and on 1st of May and started my traveling with my first stop being Lake Toya, Hokkaido. From Lake Toya I was to have a day trip to Hakodate to go see the Cherry Blossoms which was top priority.

After Hokkaido, I headed back to the main island -places I stayed at Kanazawa (day trip to Unazuki Onsen/Kurobe Dam & Takayama), Osaka, Takamatsu, Shikoku (day trip to Konpira), Fukuoka (day trip to Kagoshima, Kumamoto), Kyushu, Hiroshima (day trip to Onomichi, Miyajima), Kyoto (day trip to Kobe & Nara) and then Tokyo.

Best thing about Japan? Being able to have lunch or dinner alone without any strange looks from anybody!

First time taking the bullet train but I think I used nearly all the
bullet train types during my 21 days traveling

Hakodate Cherry Blossoms

Hakodate Cherry Blossom. Thousands of trees.
When the wind blew, it felt like it was snowing pink petals

Took a walk early in the Morning along Lake Toya and
came across this shrine at the end

Cafe we stopped by while driving around Lake Toya

Lake Toya

Sapporo was rainy and cold

Highlight of my stay in Sapporo is staying at Time Peace Hostel.
It was such a cozy and nice place, wish I could have stayed longer there.

and it was raining and windy

Kagoshima, Sakurajima puffing out smoke

Miyajima

Onomichi, view from the top of the mountain.
That day there was big thunder and lightning.
Top of the mountain was the last place i should have been. Scary day

cozy bakery on the slopes of Onomichi

Kyoto

Kyoto

Kobe

Kyoto

Kyoto - Golden Pavilion. Gold and shiny things really dont impress me.
I thought 500 yen for entrance was a bit much and the place was overcrowded

Walked through the place twice and still wasnt too impress.
I saw much more beautiful temples and
shrine as well as garden than this

The bamboo forest

OSAKA!

OSAKA - I actually fell in love with Osaka for some strange reason,
the place really appealed to me

Tokyo - Yanaka District

Tokyo _Ueno

Tokyo Shinjuku

View of Tokyo from the 45th floor of the Government Building,

View of Tokyo. The immensity of this city was mind blowing.
It was like a sea of stars

Tokyo Tower

Mount Takao - view of Mount Fuji

Mount Takao. I climbed that mountain to the top and
climbed down as well

Shinjuku - as crazy as this place is, I absolutely love it

View of the Moon from the plane.
Goodbye Japan - maybe see you soon?!!
